Am I a Vlogger now?
Hello everyone! I hope this finds you all having fancy Sunday. Maybe you are spending time with family? Maybe you are chillaxin' on the couch, watching a Hallmark Christmas movie (not my cup of tea).....or maybe you are doing both?
I have decided to give vlogging another chance. This first video isn't perfect--I have no fancy equipment or editing program, but I hope you all find it entertaining. Let me know if this is something you would like to continue to see me doing....or should I just stick with the whole Fancy Ginger blogging? Before I go, I just want to say that my heart goes out to the people of France. I don't understand why our world is the way it is right now. How can humans do such terrible things to one another? As always, I pray for peace....and #PrayforParis. Be kind to one another...and stay fancy.

Remember that time when I purchased faux leather leggings?
Good morning everyone. I hope this post finds you all having a wonderful, autumnal Sunday. I find it quite chilly in my apartment this morning....but I refuse to turn on my heat. I have a fruit fly problem, and I am SOOOOOO close to becoming rid of said problem. I feel like if I turn the heat on, they will feel really comfortable, and want to stay longer. So, I am trying to freeze them out. Irrational idea? Perhaps. Best idea ever? Perhaps. One thing is certain, I am bundled up in many layers...but I WILL win this war.
I haven't posted in awhile, mainly because my parents have been out of the country for the last few weeks....and I apparently do not function well when I am left to fend for myself. Now, that last line probably made it sound like I live in my parent's basement. That could not be further from the truth. 1. Their basement is creepy, and I still believe it is haunted. 2. I have my own place, thankyouverymuch. 3. I am a grown-up (most of the time), but I talk to my parent's everyday....and when there is no contact, I really don't know what to do with myself. Please tell me other people have this issue?
Anywho--whilst they were gone....and whilst I was on "hiatus" with the blog, I received an Amazon.com gift card in the mail....so I did some retail therapy. I also had 20% off at Birchbox.com....we all know how that story ends.
Earlier this month I had read on several fashion/beauty blogs that one of the must-have fashion items for the fall was a pair of faux leather leggings. Since I was in a very fragile state of mind, susceptible to any sort of suggestion, and I had an Amazon.com gift card---I quickly made up my mind that, I too needed a pair of faux leather leggings. I have never even consider buying faux leather-anything prior to this month. Now I wish I would have hopped on the bandwagon sooner....they are soooooo cool. But, I have no idea when I would actually wear them. Perhaps around the house when I am feeling dangerous? I don't know?
Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling--I also purchased this on Amazon.com. It arrived on my doorstep on Friday night, and I am almost done. I love the way she writes. I read her first book, and I knew I needed this one. I bought it in hard cover--because I feel important when I have hardcover books on my bookshelf. P.S. Am I the only that doesn't read e-books? Even my parents read on their tablets...are they cooler than me? No.
teapigs. sweet treat tea in liquorice and peppermint- I bought this on Birchbox.com. I have been going through a tea phase. I love the stuff. It's better for me than coffee (I might have just made that up?). This stuff is so good and very naturally sweet. I brew this when I need a little bit of sweet in my life. :) Also, it's British, and I am obsessed with anything British.
illume tea soy candle- The scent of this candle is described as a mix of "red cedar infused with mandarin, vetiver (what is this?), vanilla and tobacco leaves." To me, that is a lot of stuff to smell like....but it is an amazing scent. This is also a Birchbox purchase. I love illume products. I have perfume, hand creme and candles from this company--and they all smell wonderful. Plus, I needed a new candle and this one looks cute with all of my other candle friends.
Benefit LolliBalm- Also a Birchbox find--this is my old standard when it comes to tinted lip balms. I think this is the third time I have purchased this product over the past couple of years. I love it so much. It's a lovely pink/lilac/radiant orchid color.
*********************************************************************************
In other news....
1. I cancelled my Ipsy subscription. I just wasn't happy with it. A lot of the products seemed cheap to me (just my opinion), and I was happier with Birchbox.
2. I am falling in love with Younique makeup----when I first heard about it I was skeptical...but now I am a believer. I will hopefully have a Younique haul to discuss in the next month. :)
3. Walking Dead started up again....and so did my heart palpitations.
4. I love the fact that Hocus Pocus is on again, ALL the time. I LOVE HALLOWEEN
5. My week is going to be crazy busy on Monday and Tuesday....why are the first two days always so busy? Does this happen to anyone else?
6. Fruit Flys are the bane of my existence.....they are sooooo bad this year. I swear they are drinking my apple cinder vinegar. They aren't falling for that trick anymore.
7. Adele's new album is coming out!!! :) She is amazing. I love the song Hello.
8. Only 59 days until I am in NYC!!!!!!!
*********************************************************************************
That's all for now. I hope you all enjoyed this post. Please feel free to share the Fancy Ginger blog with your friends, family, acquaintances, random people on the street (but be careful), etc. Until next time....cheers and stay fancy!

Fancy Fall Favorites part 1....
Hola and Good Morning to all of my fancy friends and readers. Just an update on my last post--I am still searching for all of my school pictures. But, thanks to my family around the U.S.A., I have half of the school pictures that were lost. Boom...fancy success. Stay tuned for that post (hopefully in the near future).
Today's post is all about my fall beauty, home, food, and clothing favorites, thus far. I know that autumn has just begun, so I will have a part 2 favorites later on in the season. Here we go!
*********************************************************************************
Fancy Fall Favorites Part 1
(If you are interested in any of my faves, I will include the links in the descriptions. Also...I am NOT paid to say any of this---I just really love these products. :) These are also just my opinions...I AM NOT AN EXPERT....although wouldn't be great if I knew what I was doing. ;))
A few of my favorite things.....
Beauty
Face
Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF 30 (shade-very light (surprise, surprise))--The air is dry which can make my skin pretty dry, as well. I love this CC cream. I use it as a foundation (for me it has plenty of coverage...but you can use a regular foundation over it). It also has an SPF of 30. Even though the weather is cooler (and dare I say it....autumnal), we must not neglect our sunscreen. I love this product.
Eyes
Lord & Berry Back In Black Mascara (shade- #1352 deep black)-- I mainly love this mascara because of the applicator (it's really thin and makes my lashes super voluminous). I think I received this in a Birchbox a few months back, but I recently re-kindled my love for it. It's a bit spendy for a mascara, so I am not sure I will be purchasing it again. But, I REALLY REALLY REALLY love it. REALLY!!!!
Mark On The Dot Matte Eye Color Compact-- I love all of the shades in this compact. I didn't know how I would feel about matte eye shadows, at first--but I am falling in love with them. They have shades ranging from grays, to teals, to wine colors. My favorite is the deep wine color. :)
BareMinerals Full Tapered Shadow Brush--I don't have a lot to say about this brush, but it makes applying my eyeshadow supremely easy. It's a great quality brush.
Lips
Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Metallic Lipstick (shade-melted metallic jelly)--I love how easy it is to apply this lipstick. Very user friendly whether you are a novice in the make-up realm or a beauty expert. This shade is perfect for autumn. It is a deep berry. I think this would complement any skin tone/shade. Like the packaging says, it does give off a bit of a metallic sheen, which is super rad. I secretly...or not so secretly want the whole collection of lipsticks.
Mark Lipclick Matte Lipstick (shade-vixen)- This is another deep berry color, perfect for fall (in my opinion). It is a matte lipstick. I love wearing matte lipsticks in the fall. In fact, I am a wee bit obsessed with it. This is also a less expensive lipstick than the Too Faced brand. Also, if you are looking for a deep berry lipstick, that is a drugstore brand--I have heard that Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in black cherry is EXCELLENT. I am going to try it out myself, and let you know my opinions soon! :)
Benefit BeneBalm Hydrating Tinted Lipbalm- This is my favorite lip balm. I think I have gone through 4 tubes since first discovering it last fall. I use it everyday. It has a lovely red tint. You can wear it alone for a more natural look, or wear it under your regular lip color. My lips get so dry in the fall, I find that this product really helps keep my lips moisturized (ugh--that was so weird to write that sentence....I sound like a commercial).
Clothing
Old Navy Textured-Knit Boyfriend Cardigan in Caramel- This is just a cozy sweater, perfect for wearing around the house, running errands, or at work. It is really soft and cozy. Pair it with a pair of printed leggings, an oversized shirt, and I have my perfect fall outfit. :)
CAbi ZigZag Jacket-- When I got this, I knew I was living on the wild side. I have never owned a nice fall jacket, so I was really excited when this finally arrived. It is just a nice fall coat, with a little flare.
Home
Bath and Body Works/White Barn 3-Wick Candle in Salted Caramel--- If I get to choose one scent to smell for the rest of my life, this would be it. This candle is so precious to me (is that strange?) that I feel like I need to hoard 100 of them, just in case I ever run out...is that cray cray? It smells like caramel popcorn. I know that technically it should be a kitchen candle....but I use this in every room of my home. Wherever I go, so goes the candle. By the way--Bath and Body works is having a sale right now on their 3-wick candles....2 for $24 PLUS 20% off. What?!?!?! Guess whose stocking up on candles.....this Fancy Ginger.
Food (but really, it's just a drink)
Salted Caramel Mocha- For me, this is the epitome of a perfect fall drink. I don't drink coffee everyday...I only allow myself to indulge once a week. I usually get this at Starbucks. But, I know that there are other coffee establishments that sell this same type of beverage. If you couldn't tell, I am just a huge fan of salted caramel anything.

There you have it! My Fall Favorites Part 1. What are your fall favorites? Until next time...cheers and stay fancy!

Where have all the fancy pictures gone????
Good morning fancy people. This is going to be a short post. I received my new school pictures this week, so I had originally wanted to write a retrospective on my past school pictures.....the evolution of a fancy ginger. But alas, I cannot seem to locate my school pictures from kindergarten thru 11th grade (don't worry, I have a senior picture....it's a gem :/ ).
I basically ransacked my parents home, trying to find these pictures. I cannot find neither mine nor my sister's school pictures. I told Papa Norm that "we just had these out for my high school graduation party." To which he replied "Fancy Ginger, that was a long time ago (12 years ago)." Touché, Papa Norm, touché.
I am going to be honest, I am never a fan of my school pictures. They're not like selfies, where I can take a billion selfies...until I get one that I look remotely decent in---and then I can filter/edit it to death via Instagram. I am not a "one shot wonder" when it comes to taking a picture. On the other hand, I think almost everyone has some sort of horrific reaction when they first see their school pictures. Not because the picture is awful (most likely, it's a very lovely/adorable picture), but because it's more "high definition" than we were mentally prepared for.
When I received my school picture this week..the first word out of my mouth was "yikes!" Do I really have wrinkles/crinkles around my eyes when I smile now? I didn't know I had that many freckles? Oh boy...my hair.
Now looking at my school picture, I realize I do not look like the monster I first thought I did when it came in this week. I am more accepting of the lines around my eyes (although, thank goodness I received an eye cream in my Birchbox ;)), and I am a ginger...so I am going to have freckles. Acceptance is growth....so sayeth the Fancy Ginger.
I was able to locate a kindergarten picture (a small pocket sized one)...so here is a brief evolution of the Fancy Ginger (Age 5 and Age 30):

The Fancy Colors of Autumn....
Good evening, beautiful people. I am currently listening to the beautiful, clear and haunting voice of Miss Eva Cassidy on Spotify. LOVE HER!!! It was finally sweater weather today...well sort of....I am forcing it to be sweater weather. I feel like I am really forcing autumn to begin, but I can't help it. I love the colors, the smells, and the warm clothing of autumn.
My dad (Papa Norm) and I had an in-depth conversation on what scents we like in autumn. We both agreed that our scents have to be spicy and warm. My current favorites are Bath and Body Works A Thousand Wishes and Helmut Lang's Cuiron. Both are lovely and long-lasting scents. I received Helmut Lang's scent in my most recent Birchbox....and now I am trying to figure out how to raise the money to buy the full-size ($165...yikes). It is literally my new scent bff.
We also discussed our love of the Bath and Body Works 3-wick candles....the fall candles in particular. Yes, I really do have these conversations on a Saturday morning, with my dad...he's a fancy ginger too. I LOVE MY CANDLES IN THE SCENTS' AUTUMN AND SALTED CARAMEL....WHY AM I SHOUTING. Sorry...I am shouting because I have already burned the candles 3/4's of the way down, and autumn has not technically even started. I am in desperate need of new candles already. Such is the struggle of a fancy ginger.
*********************************************************************************
I have really enjoyed going through my wardrobe and picking out my fave pieces of autumnal clothing. My favorite colors to wear in the fall (sorry...I mean autumn) are grey's, navy blues (let's be honest though, I wear this color all year round), khaki/goldenrod yellow colors, berry colors, and browns. I just find that these colors go the best with my skin coloring---and I really think they would go well with almost everybody's coloring. They are classic fall colors.
I recently attended a good friend's CAbi party, and I purchased a few pieces that I thought would look fun and fancy for the fall. This company is a wee-bit on the spendy side. However, I do like their pieces and they have always lasted me a really long time. But, I do really have to save up to buy these pieces of clothing (just FYI). I purchased the Love Blouse (I really thought the collar was super cute, and the colors were fun), the ZigZag Jacket (...because I like walking on the wild side...obviously), and the Pitch Super Skinny Jean (everyone should have a pair of nice black jeans in their clothing repertoire...that's how I justified that purchase). I cannot wait until they all come in the mail. :)
I also made some purchases at Oldnavy.com today. They have some really cute fall clothing this year. I had kept some items in my shopping cart for awhile, and I was waiting until there was sale or I won the lottery (whichever came first), before I purchased them. Well today was my lucky day! No, I didn't win the lottery....but I found out I had $50 worth of rewards to use at Gap/Old Navy and Old Navy was having a sale for 30% off of all women's clothing....score! I bought 6 or 7 pieces of clothing (including a fun plaid shirt...I cannot wait until that comes in!!)...for only $10. So, basically I paid for the shipping. So, not only did I only spend $10 total...but I should be good on clothing until spring (well....realistically speaking, anyways).
*********************************************************************************
You all know how much I love my high-end beauty products...and you know how much I lament at not having the funds to always get what I want. :( Poor Fancy Ginger. That's why I LOVE Birchbox. This month I received Modelco's Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick in Smitten (a cranberry red shade). I had actually put this in my shopping cart...but was holding off because it came in a trio that is $20...and I didn't want the other shades. It pays to be patient, and hopeful, because it came in my Birchbox. :) I also received Tocca's body scrub in Green Tea and Lemon...which was another item I had in my shopping cart. Score!
I have not actually purchased anything from Birchbox in quite a long time (we are going for a Fancy Ginger record). I am hoping to save my points up for Christmas shopping. I have been diligently writing reviews about my monthly subscription box (you get 10 points per review..up to 50 points), and sharing my monthly box on social media sites (10 points). I am almost to $20 to spend in the Birchbox shop! :)
Anywho--since I am trying to be economical in my beauty purchases, I decided to go back to an old beauty favorite from my teen years, and I was pleasantly surprised. When I was younger I loved Mark by Avon--a more trendy/youth-centered brand of Avon beauty products. I recently ordered a few things from Mark. Their makeup products are super affordable. I am really into berry shades on my lips and colorful matte shades on my eyes, for autumn. I picked up the Lipclick Matte Lipstick shade in Vixen (a dark wine/berry shade), and the On the Dot Matte Eye Compact (I love shade #3--a matte teal shade). The lipstick was $11 and the eye compact was $16 (it has 9 eyeshadow shades). I also bought some powder foundation, since I was out, a liquid eye liner (just for funsies), a 3-way body wash in the scent Jasmine, and makeup remover wipes---all for under $50. You can't even buy things that inexpensive at Walmart. Check out Mark...they also sell super-cute clothing.
*********************************************************************************
Wow--what a long post. I hope you found this post informative...or something. Remember these are just my opinions. I know when it comes to fall, a lot of people love really muted colors...but I think fall/autumn is a great time break out the rich colors like berry, teals, golds, browns. I don't use as much shimmer-based makeup as I did in the summer or spring. I love the matte look in all aspects of my full look.
Before I go, here are some pictures on my favorite autumnal things. Cheers and stay fancy....

Fancy Post...without a purpose.....
Happy Labor Day Weekend to my readers in the U.S.! I love long weekends.....A LOT. I have taken at least a dozen naps, reorganized my shoe collection (I got rid of a ton of boots), watched a lot of Disney movies....and the weekend isn't even over yet. Who knows what sort of shenanigans I'll get up to tomorrow. I know, you can totally tell I am a single Fancy Ginger....don't be jelly.
Right now I am listening to "We Built This City" by Starship, on Spotify. Such an epic 80's diddy, don't you think? I love jamming out to 80's radio. I was just watching Back To The Future II (nice segue there, Fancy Ginger)....you know...the one that actually went to the future...but the future is actually now?!?! Who else is hoping Mattel comes out with a Hover Board on October, 21st this year---just for funsies???
I am sorry this is such a random post. I was going to write a post about fall colors to wear this year....but I was lazy....and forgot to take pictures. I think I was on my 10th nap when I should have been taking lovely fall clothing and makeup pictures. I rarely do a random post. I promise to make my next post epically fancy and full of fall colors. But since I woke up and decided to wear my blue striped leggings with my old ratty Beatles' t-shirt....and NO MAKEUP (oh the horror), it just wasn't going to happen today.
****Wham! just came on the radio.....dance break time.***
I went to yoga yesterday morning...and I only (gracefully) fell once! Success! I love yoga, because there is no judgment when you are practicing your poses....and it is so relaxing.....except when you fall on your bum.
On another health note, I tried to make kale chips today. They didn't quite crisp up the way the should have. What am I doing wrong? It was definitely a Pinterest fail for this Fancy Ginger. Does anyone have a fool proof kale chip recipe they would like to share?
I better end this fancy random post. But before I go, here is one of my fave pictures from Chicago:
Me being fancy in Chi-town...at one of the best Irish Restaurants I have ever been to.
Until next time....cheers and stay fancy!

A Fancy Return.....
Goodness gracious! It has been over a month since my last post. I apologize for the delay....life got busier. School is back in session, I had a cold, and I have been trying to teach myself how to do different types braids....so busy....obviously. This post is going to feature a "chaotic haul."
Before I address the chaos, one question---is anyone else soooooo ready for fall? I love fall. It is probably my favorite time of the year. I love the smells, the food, the weather, the clothing, and the fact that I get to bust out the word 'autumnal' quite often. It sounds so posh and fancy. I am going to be bustin' that word out quite a bit.
Just to catch you all up a bit on my end of summer busy-ness...here is what I have really been up to:
1. Went to Chicago for a girls weekend/my belated 30th birthday celebration--I highly recommend Navy Pier, eating Giordano's pizza, finding a random jazz club, dining at RPM Italian (squid ink pasta...yum), shopping on the Magnificent Mile (The employees at Kate Spade are super nice.....and super persuasive. You know you're in deep when you are drinking Peligrino water from a cute red-striped straw.), and going with people that ROCK (e.g., my sister and my best girls!)!!!!!!
2. I went back to work, as per usual. One of the reason I love autumn...SCHOOL STARTS AGAIN. :)
3. I "gracefully" fell during my yoga class (my ankle itched and I tipped over).
4. Visited my Grandpa at his farm, and became really close with nature. I am not a farm girl.
5. Spent time last weekend at our town's Riverboat Days/Summer Arts Festival. It was so much fun!
Now onto my "Chaotic Haul"............

The Fancy Ginger's End of Summer Haul.......That She Bought to Get Ready For Fall.
*Longest Title Ever*
Disclaimer: Some of these items were purchased in Chicago, some of them were purchased online, and some of them were purchased at Riverboat days. It's chaos.
(From Left to Right Old Navy boots, White Barn Candle Company- Salted Caramel, Sephora Exfoliating Face Wipes, Perfectly Posh- Apricots Overnight Face Mask, LAQA&CO Cheeky Lip in Cray Cray, Too Faced Melted Metal Lipstick in Melted Metallic Jelly, Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Violet, Bath & Bodyworks Body mist in A Thousand Wishes, Kate Spade NY wristlet/clutch, T-shirt by Recycled Karma--purchased from Nordstrom Rack)
Old Navy Boots-- I purchased these puppies at oldnavy.com. They come up to right above my ankle, and do not have a heel. They are perfect for my job, and allow me to look autumnal and fancy.
White Barn Candle Company 3-wick Candle in Salted Caramel-- BEST SMELLING CANDLE EVER!!! It smells like caramel popcorn. I have been burning it almost every day, since I purchased it.
Sephora Exfoliating Face Wipes-- I am not sure why I purchased exfoliating face wipes, but these take my makeup off muy bueno!
Perfectly Posh- Apricots Overnight Face Mask-- I have not had the chance to try this mask out, but it smells so good. And, I really like the idea of wearing a face mask overnight. Stay tuned for reviews.
LAQA&CO Cheek Lip in Cray Cray-- This came in a really nice peachy/coral color. I received it in my August Birchbox, and it is designed to be used on cheeks and lips. I usually use it on my cheeks. I think this color would be perfect for fall.
Too Faced Melted Metal Lipstick in Melted Metallic Jelly & Melted Lipstick in Melted Violet-- I am obsessed with these lipsticks from Too Faced. I want the whole collection. They apply easy, and they last a long time on your lips. They also come in fabulous colors.
Bath & Body Works Body Mist in A Thousand Wishes-- My parent's bought this for me during one of their shopping excursions. This has a lovely fruity and pleasant scent....it's a current favorite of mine.
T-Shirt by Recycled Karma--purchased from Norstrom Rack--- This t-shirt...seriously....I CAN'T EVEN!!
Kate Spade NY wristlet/clutch-- This clutch holds so much stuff. It is perfect for an evening out or for running errands. I bought this because of the bow on it, the color, and I was drinking expensive/fancy water.

There you have it, fancy people; a rundown of a chaotic end of summer. I look forward to posting more autumnal things. But until then....cheers and stay fancy!

Fancy meanderings...July Ipsy/Birchbox review.....
I am doing what all of the cool kids do on a Saturday evening, in the summer....blogging. I am also listening to the Spotify US top 50 station, and I really just want to barf at how much I actually like these songs. I wish I was into obscure bands and alternative music, that no one's ever heard about. It might actually add depth to this fancy blog. But alas, I am a pop culture fiend. It's o.k...I was born this way.
Time is flying, this summer. This has been a really good summer for the Fancy Ginger. I have done a lot of fun and different things that I normally wouldn't do. For instance, I wore a white dress (no, not that kind of white dress....I am still a single ginger). I had to buy a white dress-which I normally wouldn't do, because I am sooooo pale, that all you would see is this blank slate of paleness and flaming ginger hair at the top. In my mind (which I exaggerate things a lot), I look like the Olympic torch when I wear white.
Anywho, I wore it for this wonderful event/fundraiser that the Yankton Area Arts Association puts on called Meridian en Blanc. It was a great evening of music, food, and fun. I am so glad I was able to apart of it and help out. And...I think I looked pretty decent in that white dress. It cured my phobia towards white dresses, and white clothing in general. Moral of the story: don't knock it 'til you try it.
Shall we get to the actual reason for this post???????
*********************************************************************************
Teeez Read My Lips Lipstick in Killing Me Softly: One of the things I love about Ipsy, is that they never cease to introduce me to brands that I have never heard of in the beauty world. This brand, Teeez is based in The Netherlands. I love this lipstick. I have worn it a few times, and it is moisturizing and really long lasting.....highly pigmented. The color that I received is a pink/red/coral color. I wasn't really sure how to describe it, so hopefully that covers everything. It's perfect for summer.
Ofra Eyeshadow & Highlighter in Bliss: I have not had a chance to try this product out. But, when I swatched it on my hand it showed up as a shimmery rose-gold color. Very pretty.
Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Anti-aging Lip Conditioner in Coconut Cream: Although this product has the LONGEST NAME EVER...I love it. It smells amazing, and it's anti-aging????? Say what? It's a winner!
City Color HD Powder: I am really not sure what HD Powder is for...I need to do a little research. But, I am assuming this will make it so I don't have to filter my selfies to death before I post them? Here's hoping! ;)
I loved this month's glambag. The makeup bag is killer and everything I received this month is on point. Bravo Ipsy!
*********************************************************************************
Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid- Full-size, $39: No joke, this is probably the best moisturizer I have ever used on my face. It is so light, and not greasy. I have used this a couple of days in a row now, and my face looks so good. That sounded really conceded..but this stuff is great. A little bit goes a long way. I think that this sample will last me a LONG time.
Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray- Full-size, $22-$39: Does heaven have a smell? Yes, it does...it's this stuff. It smells like sunshine, smiles, and happiness. I am not even sure if it actually does what it says it should (make texturized/beachy waves). You know what? I don't care....I would purchase this product simply because it smells like amazing-ness.
dr. brandt Microdermabrasion skin exfoliant- Full-size, $78: Can we just discuss for a moment, how expensive this product is? Realistically, I am never going to buy this exfoliant. I just cannot justify spending $78 for a face wash (this is a personal opinion, of course). That said, it is really good. It brightened my skin, and left it feeling very soft. If this is in your budget, I would highly recommend it. This Fancy Ginger is going to savor the sample, for now.
StiVectin-AR Advanced Retinol Eye Treatment- Full-size, $75: Again, will I ever buy $75 eye cream? Probably not in the near future. Good news...the sample size will last me a month or two. I just started using it, and I am not sure if my eyes look more youthful yet, but it does moisturize that area. I will let you know how it goes.
stila Look At Me Liquid Lipstick Trio- set of 3, $20: I have been wanting this lipstick for SOOOOOOO LONG. I got really excited when Birchbox said that each of it's subscribers were going to receive one of the lipsticks. I received the color Venizia--a coral color. It is
beautiful. However, liquid lipstick is serious business for someone who has never used it prior to receiving this travel size. It drys really quickly, and it stays on FOREVER. I plan on getting some more of these in some different colors. The formula is great...but a bit drying on the lips.
Laura Geller Beauty Bronze-n-Brighten- Full-size, $33- This was one of the full-size makeup products I received. It came in the color medium. I love this stuff. It is a matte bronzer and it warms my face up perfectly. I think it would work for a wide range of skin colors, too.
Smashbox Cosmetics Full Exposure Mascara- Full-size, $20- I also received this in the full-size version. It is in the color jet black. Is it better than any other mascara that I have tried? In my opinion, no. But, it does what it needs to do, and it's full-size. So, I feel like a winner.
Loved my Birchbox this month. I saw a preview of August's box.....so exciting. It's a nautical/swimming theme. Everyone knows how much I love a good nautical theme.
*********************************************************************************
Holy schmoly this was a long post. I hope it was deeply educational, blah, blah, blah. I go on my last vacay for the summer really soon, so I will be sure to post on my upcoming adventures. Until next time: Cheers and stay fancy!

Keeping your home fresh and fancy for free....
Hello fancy people. Originally, this post was going to be about living healthy/eating healthy, but I didn't want to bore you guys with what I have been doing to be healthy. If y'all want me to go into great detail on what I have been doing, let me know. In a nutshell though, I have been following an alkaline/PH-balancing lifestyle with the help of a program called Yoli (which is AMAZING), along with regular exercise in the form of yoga and dancing. I no longer drink coffee (I know, shocker) or eat processed foods (goodbye McDonald's, Chef Boyardee, and junk food). I stick to whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean meats, and fish. Pretty simple and easy.
Anywho...onto today's topic. I recently purchased the book Cupcakes and Cashmere at Home by Emily Schuman. I purchased this book using my points from Birchbox, so it was free-ish (score!). She is an amazing blogger, who created this book to offer ideas about a variety of lifestyle items, such as decorating your home and entertaining. She has wonderful ideas, and inspired me to "freshen" up my apartment a bit. If you are looking for some home inspiration or just a great looking book on your coffee table, I highly recommend this book. :)
*********************************************************************************
I am gearing up to go on another trip really soon, so I don't really have a budget for "refurbishing" my apartment. I decided to get creative. Everything that I did to apartment today, cost exactly $0. Boom. Here are my tips for a making your living space Fresh and Fancy. Disclaimer: I am NOT AN EXPERT!!!! Who knows....my advices/tips could be complete piddle. Regardless...enjoy!
1. Clean your home: One of the things that I feel always makes my home fresh and fancy....i.e., spruces things up a bit...is giving it a good cleaning. I deep clean my apartment once a week, and do little cleaning jobs two times a week. Deep cleaning definition- dusting, scrubbing the bathroom/toilet (lovely), vacuuming, sweeping and washing the floors. It is true what they say "a clean home is a happy home." I use a lavender scented all natural/all purpose cleaner by the brand Method, that I purchased from HyVee.....maybe $2 or $3. It works for everything kitchen, bathroom, dusting, windows, etc.
2. Switch out your lighting fixtures: This may sound silly, but it seriously does wonders for your living space. Recently, I switched a lamp that was in my bedroom with one that was in my living room. Seriously...try it out. It may sound cray cray, but it tricked my brain into thinking I got some new lighting fixtures.
3. Gather up your good smelling candles: Put all of your favorite candles together, to make a little center piece on your coffee table. This just adds a homey feeling to the living room, in my opinion.
4. Remember those fairy lights you purchased for Halloween and Christmas?: I purchased purple fairy lights for Halloween last year, and now I use them to add a little bit of fanciness to my bookshelf. I think I bought them for $2...and now I use them all year 'round.
5. Switch out your bathroom linens/towels: Yes, you may need to dig deep into your linen closet...but it is worth it.
6. Re-purpose old baskets and boxes for bathroom storage: I use the boxes my Birchbox subscriptions come in as storage for everything in my bathroom (e.g., make-up, nail polish, perfumes, etc.). I like my re-using Birchbox boxes because they are all really colorful.
There you have it....just a few tips from the Fancy Ginger. Here are a few pictures from my apartment:

Shopping locally can be fancy....
Hello gorgeous, fancy people! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. Is it just me, or is this summer going by super fast? I am going to try to make this a short post--but knowing me, I will just end up rambling.
I know in this blog I post a lot of things that I find in name brand stores or on the internet. I do get a little self-conscious about posting things that I buy, because I don't want people to think that all I do is shop---I promise I have more hobbies than just shopping :). I also don't want people to think that I just shop at a store because of it's name. I am a well-rounded Fancy Ginger. Besides, I get A LOT of requests for these shopping hauls.
Disclaimer--I do this all on a budget. If what I want to buy goes over my budget, I won't get it. I have more important things to spend my money on than just clothes--but every once-in-awhile I need to treat myself.
Whether it's clothes, beauty supplies, concerts, travel, food, books, movies, etc.---make sure that you try to save a little to treat yourself.
The clothing that is on this post, is all stuff that I bought last month from local "sources." :)
*********************************************************************************
I live in a good-sized town (under South Dakota standards), but it can be hard to shop locally--especially when it comes to shopping for clothes and home goods/accessories, etc. Often times one is forced to travel out of town or even out of state to get what they need, or shop via the internet--where you have to trust the little picture on the screen. However, my hometown and my state have a few gems that I will share today.
Another disclaimer- Boutique shopping has pro's and con's. Pro's- they only buy a few of each item, so you know that what you are getting is something that is unique, and not many people in your town will own. The clothing is usually good quality and will last a long time. Con's- they only buy a few of each item, which means they can run out quite fast, or not carry the size you need. Also, they tend to be a little more spendy, depending on what you are looking for.
*********************************************************************************
Well, so much for not rambling-eh? I think my next post will be on living healthy...or healthier. I have made a lot of lifestyle changes in the past couple of months, and I am going to let you all know how it's going. That sounds like a grand plan, doesn't it?
Until next time, cheers and stay fancy!

I bought this at a boutique called Head 2 Heels. It reminded me of a sailor/nautical top. It is loose fitting and comfortable. You can easily wear with jeans or shorts. Dress it up or Dress it down.
Aww...look at that Fancy Ginger. All I am missing is a little sailor hat. How cute would that be??
I bought this romper at a local boutique called Riverside Boutique, which is a cute little store right next to Head 2 Heels in downtown Yankton, SD. It sells clothes for women and children. I wasn't so sure about even trying on this romper, because I am short and was just afraid it would fit me wrong. But, my mom convinced me to try it on, and I am glad she did. It fit perfectly (sorry I have no photo of me actually wearing this). Bonus--it has pockets. I wore this on the 4th of July and received a lot of compliments. It is just super comfortable. If you are interested in checking out Riverside Boutique click here.
I bought this online from an online clothing boutique called Filly Flair. I feel like I am the last person on the planet to find out about this site, but it is amazing. The reason why I am putting them under my local finds, is because they are actually based out of a town in South Dakota, not far from where I live. They ship all over the country and world, and are super affordable. Pretty sure this maxi dress was $36-$38. I think this dress is perfect for summer. It's nice and light. I plan on taking it with me when I go on vacation at the end of the month. :)
Filly Flair has so many cute things on their site, you MUST check it out! I am constantly restraining myself from buying everything. If you are interested in Filly Flair click here
Not the best picture of me...but it at least shows most of the dress. Boom...Fancy Ginger!

June 2015 Ipsy Vs. Birchbox....
Good morning everyone! I am feeling very sophisticated this morning. Maybe it's because I am listening the classical station on Pandora? Perhaps it's because I didn't have Lucky Charms for breakfast....rather, I had banana and a breakfast shake? Or perhaps, it's because I am burning my favorite Greenleaf soy candle in Bella Freesia? I know what you are thinking...'wow, not only is she a fancy ginger, but she's a sophisticated fancy ginger.' Also note that as I write this I am speaking with a British accent...so you should probably read it using that same accent.
In fact, I am so.....phisticated (name that commercial), that I no longer feel the need to put the word "fancy" in my blog post titles. I think we all know by now that I am fancy, or like to think I am fancy. It doesn't always need to be written, it's just understood.
Moving on...here is my review of the my June IpsyGlamBag vs. my June Birchbox. (Spoiler alert: Bircbox won!)

Bag for June 2015
In fact, I am so.....phisticated (name that commercial), that I no longer feel the need to put the word "fancy" in my blog post titles. I think we all know by now that I am fancy, or like to think I am fancy. It doesn't always need to be written, it's just understood.
Moving on...here is my review of the my June IpsyGlamBag vs. my June Birchbox. (Spoiler alert: Bircbox won!)
*********************************************************************************
Birchbox vs. Ipsy
First up---IpsyGlam
(Let's first discuss the GlamBag situation. It reminds me of a wetsuit. It has that same type of feel. Regardless, I do like this month's bag. It's simple but has a pop of color with that neon-orange zipper. Products from left to right are: Pure Brazillian Miracle Leave-In Conditioner, Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner: blackhead extractor mask, Trestique Mini Shadow Crayon in aspen pine, Absolute New York Nail Lacquer in tourquoise, Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer)
***Just a reminder that Ipsy is $10/month. When products are sent, they do not give the prices of full-size products. But if you are interested in checking out any of these products, or the Ipsy GlamBag monthly subscription service, click here.
Pure Brazilian Miracle Leave-In Conditioner: My first impression of this sample, is that it came in a great travel-size. This will last me quite awhile. It also smelled wonderful and tropical. I have used this a hand full of times, and I can say it really works. It left my hair looking and feeling soft.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner: blackhead extractor mask: I love this little sample. I have received Dr. Brandt products in my Birchbox, and really respect this brand. Although, I do not have issues with blackheads, I used this sample a spot treatment. I woke up with a pimple on the tip of my nose (the worst place ever), yesterday. I put some of this mask on, and 10-15 minutes later, the pimple was no longer red and it and shrunk in size significantly.
Trestique Mini Shadow Crayon in Aspen Pine- I really wish I would have received this sample in a different color. The color is called aspen pine....but it looks really army green. It's just not a color that suits me. :( On the upside, there is a lot of product in this sample. I will just have to give this away. Anyone out there really like green shadows on their eyes?
Absolute New York Nail Lacquer in Tourquoise- Love the color, not a fan of the staying power. It started chipping the day after application. :(
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer- I love this stuff. It helped to make my face look flawless, and kept my makeup looking fresh ALL DAY. I have researched a lot of primers, and Smashbox always comes out as one of the top primers to own. I think I may need to purchase a full size when I am done with this size. Even though this comes in a small package, a little bit goes a LONG way.
(The box is sooooooo pretty. When I received this the other day, it came in a much bigger box than usual. At first I panicked, thinking 'oh no, did I do some sleep-shopping?' But, inside I found out I won a MAJOR AWARD (10 points to whomever can guess that holiday movie). I received the Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner in Beyond Brown. Benefit just came out with this series of liners and mascaras in vibrant colors.)
If you want to see what I look like with the Beyond Brown liner on, check out my Instagram @thefancyginger. ) I also received a few full-size products in this months box--thanks to my upgrade. :) Here are the products I received from left to right: Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge in Sydney, Pura Vida Lace Headband, Supergoop Everyday SPF 50 with Cellular Response Technology, Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in Blue Lagoon, Temple Spa Good Hair Day Shampoo and Conditioner, Mally Beauty Liquid Defender Blush in Mimosa, TOCCA Eau de Parfum in Bianca, Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner--check out Instagram to see what I thought of it.
Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge in Sydney; Full-size- $29- This was one of the products I received in full-size. It is a lovely red/pink color. But watch out---this stuff can easily turn you into a "lipstick monster." The first time I put this on, I od'd a bit. I ended up with lipstick all over my face. What I found worked for me when using this product is dabbing on a little of it on my lips, and spreading the product around using my fingertips. It created a vibrant yet more natural look. It also stays on my lips ALL DAY LONG, no matter what I drink or eat. I highly recommend this product, just be careful.
Pura Vida Lace Headband; Pack of 8- $18- I love this headband. Often times when I wear headbands, they never stay on, because I have such an odd-shaped head. This one didn't budge all day.
Supergoop Everyday SPF 50 with Cellular Response Technology; Full-size- $19-$48- This was my sample choice this month. I love Supergoop. First of all, the name is wonderful. Secondly, it really does protect my ginger skin from the suns harmful rays. I just wish this sample size was a tad bit bigger. Another favorite sunscreen of mine is COOLA.
Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in Blue Lagoon; Full-size- $11- I love me some colorful liners. I have already worn this a few times. I know that the "phisticated" part of me would just put this on my waterline, but I put this all over my eyes. Boom...beautemous.
Temple Spa Good Hair Day Shampoo and Conditioner; Full-size- $14 each- I have yet to try out these products. I do enjoy getting a shampoo and conditioner sample. These are the perfect travel-size samples too.
Mally Beauty Liquid Face Defender Blush in Mimosa; Full-size- $30- I also received this in the full-size version. The color is a nice coral, perfect for summer. It applied really easily, but kind of made my face a little greasy. However, I have not broken out....which is good.
TOCCA Eau de Parfum in Bianca; Full-size- $68- This is lovely floral/citrusy smelling scent (I am horrible at describing perfumes). The only thing I am going to complain about is the packaging of this sample. I really like it when Birchbox sends the perfume samples that you can spray/spritz on yourself. This one came in a skinny tube that you have to dab on yourself. The only reason I don't like this kind, is because I have spilled these types of samples SO MANY times, and wasted all of the wonderful perfumes. :(
Birchbox definitely won this month. I think my favorite things in my Birchbox were the Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge and the Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner. In my Ipsy GlamBag my favorite things were the Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer and the Dr. Brandt face mask (it's a really long name that I am not going to type out again).
If you are interested in subscribing to Birchbox click here. A regular monthly women's subscription is $10/month. If you want to up your game like The Fancy Ginger you can get the $30/month subscription which means you get 2 full-size makeup or nail products a month. As you can see, my full-size products totaled $59....so it's definitely worth it. I will say, when you subscribe, be sure to fill out your beauty profile, and keep updating it. It can help to ensure that you do not receive products you have no desire to receive (e.g., hair products, perfumes, etc.).
If you are looking to give the gift of fanciness to a man in your life, a regular monthly men's subscription is $20/month. Or, you can gift a 3-month subscription to try it out, for $60. I just gifted my dad another 3-month subscription. He loves it.
*********************************************************************************
That's all I have. Good gracious, this took me over an hour to write. My next post might be up later today...if I am feeling ambitious. I will be posting on my local boutique finds....sort of a mini-haul.
Until then, stay fancy and cheers!

30 facts about the Fancy Ginger.....
I tried...I really did. I want to be a good vlogger, not just a blogger. But, it's just not happening right now. :( I guess that's okay, because I secretly really like writing. Monday night I gave the whole vlog thing the "good ole' college try"...but was too impatient to wait for it to upload. *sigh* Whilst burying myself in some self-pity time, I watched a bunch of vlogs on YouTube. Which inspired today's blog post topic.
Before I get to my post, if any of you are ever interested in watching vlogs on YouTube (my current obsession) here are some of my fave YouTube channels (all you need to do is type in the name :)):
1. Sacconejoly- This is a family of Irish vloggers. They put up a new vlog every day at 12 pm (ct)/ 1 pm (et). I have been watching their vlog for a year, and I cannot get enough. They are such lovely people. They are my favorite vloggers.
2. Zoella and morezoella- This young woman (real name Zoe Sugg) has two YouTube channels. One is simply for daily vlogging (morezoella), and the other is for putting up videos on different topics (beauty, lifetstyle, hauls, and fun random topics). She is also British....one of the reasons I am obsessed with her channel.
3. Pointlessblogtv- This happens to be Zoella's boyfriend. His vlogs are very entertaining. Not really sure how to describe it...just check it out!
4. Rachhloves- She is a beauty and lifestyle vlogger from Canada. She is way cool.
5. AmyLynnThompson- I have been following her on twitter for several years. Her videos range from beauty, random topics, and lifestyle advice. She is obsessed with Disneyland--which also puts her on my top 5 list, because I LOVE DISNEY!!!!!!!
Anywho....watching all of these channels inspired my blog post today, because a lot of these YouTubers have all done videos where they share a certain number of random facts about themselves. I always find that sort of thing entertaining. Hopefully you find this entertaining...and if you don't.....I am sorry....sort of. Some of you may already know these facts. But as a Fancy Ginger, you know I am full of surprises. At least that's the hope.

The Fancy Ginger Presses Shuffle....
The Fancy Ginger is back! I really truly meant to put up another post while I was still in California, but time slipped away, as it usually does. I did come up with a couple of ideas for new posts while I was gone-- one of which I will share with you tonight.
I had a wonderful time in California.....or what I like to call "the state with lovely weather and no humidity." I feel like I could live there, and be really fancy. But let's face it, I could be fancy anywhere (deflate that ego a little, Miss Fancy Ginger).
While I was in the middle of the long train trip home (44 hours people!!!), I had a lot of time to think....and stare out the window.....and sleep. Whilst I was thinking, I came up with the idea for this post. My iTunes music collection has built up quite significantly, over time. Some of the songs that are on my playlist have not been listened to in FOREVER (we're talking YEARS, people!!). So, I thought it would be fun to press shuffle on my full playlist---talk about the first 10 songs that popped up on my shuffle, and why I downloaded them.
I was a little scared to do this, because I know that deep down in the crevices of the iTunes playlist I have some really sketchy songs....that make me go "why did I think this was a good idea?" Putting my fears aside here is the list:
*********************************************************************************
The Fancy Ginger's First 10 Songs on iTunes Shuffle
(My really artsy "I listen to music" picture.....lame...I know.)
In the order of how they came up on my phone...here are the songs:
1. "Unconditionally" by Katy Perry- I was going through a "Katy Perry" phase last summer, and downloaded like every song she ever made. She's not even my favorite artist, so I am not sure why I went that cray cray. I do like this song because it is a sappy love song. I am a sucker for love songs. Case in point--I am still in love with "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion. Jack and Rose forever! FYI--this song is no "My Heart Will Go On," but I it will do.
2. "December 1963 (Oh What A Night)" by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons- I went to the movie the Jersey Boys last summer, and once again became an obsessed little ginger and downloaded the soundtrack. This is one of my favorite songs from the soundtrack. I love that it is so upbeat. I can easily bust a move.
3. "One Thing" by One Direction- Not ashamed to say that I have this song, along with several other songs by 1D. From NKOTB to *NSYNC to 1D--need I say more?
4. "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain- I told you I had a thing for sappy love songs....don't be hatin'. But seriously, this is a beautiful song. I will ignore the fact that she is a country artist (I really don't like country music....obviously I make exceptions). I like this song because it is your typical wedding song, she's Canadian, and she wore a pale green velvet dress in the music video...she looked like a goddess. I know that goddess and green velvet don't always go together, but just check out the video on Youtube. Seriously, life goals!!!
5. "All About That Bass" by Meghan Trainor- This song follows me EVERYWHERE!!!! It's on the radio, it's on a diaper commercial, it's in my brain!!!! I will be honest, I am little over this song. Maybe not just a little...A LOT over it. I do like her other songs, though.
6. "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Jr.- When this song came on, I did a little fist pump into the hair (e.g., the ending frame from "Breakfast Club"). "Ghostbusters" is my favorite movie in the whole wide world. I am thinking that this may be Ray Parker Jr.'s only hit, but don't quote me on that?!?! I like to play this song when I am visiting my sister in NYC, and walking down the streets of New York. When I entered the New York Public Libraryvfor the first time, you can bet I blasted this song in my ear buds. If you don't know why I did that, then you need to go rent "Ghostbusters" and study it. That's your assignment from the Fancy Ginger.
7. "My Love" by Justin Timberlake- I love me some J. Timberlake. He's my fave. He can sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and I will be like "THAT'S THE BEST SONG EVER!!!!" This song is just so cool. I don't know how else to explain it.
8. "Rush" by Aly & AJ- I am not entirely sure why this song is in my collection. It's not bad, but not really something I would buy. I must have been in a mood.
9. "Two of Us" by Aimee Mann & Michael Penn- This is a cover of the great Beatle's song. It's from the "I Am Sam" soundtrack. I love that movie. I love this version (although, not as much as the original). Check out the movie if you haven't done so already.
10. "Paradise" by Coldplay- My bestie Jacqueline will be so happy that Coldplay made my shuffle list--because she is a HUGE Coldplay fan. In fact, I am pretty sure I purchased it because of her. I am easily influenced, but this is a good song.
*********************************************************************************
So there you have it, the 10 songs that came up when I pressed shuffle. I like doing fun little blog posts like this. It's something different, than just talking about fashion and beauty. If you like these types of posts, let me know. I have some more ideas for future posts. :)
But, if you like to see what I get in my Ipsy and Birchbox subscriptions, don't worry. I will still be posting those every month. :)
Until next time, stay fancy! Cheers!

California fanciness and shopping haul....
Fancy people of the world, I greet you warmly from the lovely state of California. I am currently on vacay with some of mi familia, and we have been in Cali for approximately 3 days. I could get really get used to this constant warm weather and low humidity (although, they are in desperate need of rain).
Aside from a minor first world technology issue (my phone decided not to work for a bit :( ---I may have been on the verge of a panic attack...how sad is that?), and a fear of falling out of my train bed (yes, we took the train, and I had the top bunk...how fancy), this has been a world class vacation. Our real reason for making the trek to California, was not just to be fancy and laid back, but my cousin is graduating from high school...which makes me feel really old. Congrats cousin!
I plan on doing a few blog posts while I am out here in California, just to keep you all in the loop of this fancy ginger-ness. Today's California blog is all about the shopping I have done here, so far. In the city that my family lives in, there is a terrific outlet mall. So naturally, my parents and I just spent two days shopping there (it's one of our many talents). I love outlet malls......like truly love....bordering on obsession....I may have a problem.
In case you have never been to an outlet mall, one of the great things about these types of malls is that you can go to higher end stores, but not spend the higher end prices. Although, be cautious for what I like to call "outlet mall tricky-ness." If you are not careful, and not reading closely enough, you could still be spending an arm and a leg on some items. As with all shopping trips, always be sure to read the fine print. :)
Now for the fun stuff......
*********************************************************************************
The Fancy Ginger's California Shopping Haul
Fossil tote bag- Not sure if the picture really does this bag justice. I think I am going to call it my Mary Poppins' bag, because I can literally fit everything in it. This morning I packed all of my typical purse items, plus my laptop, a pair of jeans and a bottle of sunscreen (sun safety is important for pale people like me).
Kate Spade purse-- I think I will call this one Katherine the 5th. I am obsessed with Kate Spade. This purse will be perfect to bring when I have my continuous 30th birthday in Chi-town. I am also going to bring my Kate Spade sushi clutch...because why not? It's fancy.
Levi Demi-Curve Jeans-- These jeans are so comfortable. In order for me to buy a pair of jeans, they have to be durable to all of the random dance moves I might pull out of my arsenal. Don't worry, I did some turns and kicks in the dressing room, just to be sure they could handle it. However, these jeans offer a good lesson for why you should always read the fine print at an outlet mall. I thought they were on sale for $19.99--they were not. But, since they flowed with my dance moves, I got them anyways...they were still a good deal for Levi's.
Banana Republic Outlet T-shirt Dress (I think I made that name up), and fancy Banana Republic Belt- This is such a simple dress. Perfect for summer. I added the belt, because that's what the mannequin had on it....and I have no original ideas when it comes to fashion.
White House/Black Market Outlet shorts- I apologize for the sideways picture. It's right side up on my phone, but not here. I got these shorts because they were $17....and because I liked the color. They also allow for some sweet dance moves.
J. Crew Factory Outlet coral top and navy "city" shorts- I am in love with the color combo of navy and coral. I think this outfit would be perfect for a nice, casual, and fancy evening out to dinner with friends.
BareMinerals Outlet- It wouldn't be a Fancy Ginger shopping trip without a trip to the nearest cosmetics stores. Who knew this store existed as an outlet? Not me! I have never tried this kind of makeup--but they had awesome deals. My mom and I both purchased makeup from here. I got an eye shadow trio (complete with eye shadow primer and makeup brush), two sheer lipsticks (in berry and coral colors), and two eye liners (one black, and one navy--just for funsies). I will try to post a review on my thoughts about this brand when I get home. :)
Side note------Many of these stores give discounts for military, educators, students, and seniors. All you need to bring is your military id, school id, or driver's license (depending on the type of discount you qualify for). I would recommend asking in each store you go to, if they have one of these discounts--because they may not always have it advertised. :)
*********************************************************************************
There you have it, my first post in California. I hope you found it informative, entertaining, and fancy. ;) Like I said before, I will try to post a couple of more blog entries while I am here.
I am off to go pretend like I am a Californian now. Cheers and stay fancy!
