Before I get too far ahead of myself, lets talk about my summer thus far. My main goal for the summer was to regroup, relax, and have fun. After a semi-stressful year, I think I needed that. Here is a list of all the things I have been enjoying/doing this summer:
1. Reading- I like to take advantage of the community library to obtain some great new reads. This summer I have been REALLY into murder mysteries. I have always been drawn to this genre...but I have been a bit extra on the topic this summer. My favorite novels are The Mitford Murders: A Mystery by Jessica Fellowes and A Different Kind of Evil by Andrew Wilson. If you are a fan of Agatha Christie or Downtown Abbey, I think you will enjoy these reads...but don't take my word for it (thank you Lavar Burton..don't you wish there was a Reading Rainbow for adults....loved that show when I was a kid...seriously!).
2. Yoga- Right before school got out, I started to FINALLY go to the yoga studio that I live above (convenient right?). I have always done yoga by myself, but it was nice to attend actual classes and challenge myself. I thought I was going to die the first time I attended a fit-flow class....but learned to love it...haha. It is addicting, and a good addiction at that. I haven't been to a class for awhile because of traveling and being a busy little ginger (although I have been doing my own flow each day to continue my practice)--but I am eager to go back soon! It's a great way to reconnect to myself and become stronger mentally and physically. I know...that was deep for the Fancy Ginger. ;)
3. Travel- I have been fortunate to do a bit of traveling this summer. At the start of summer I went on a fabulous girl's trip to Las Vegas. I had not been to Las Vegas in 8 years, and this was probably one of the best girl's trips I have ever been on. In my opinion Vegas is good in small doses...and the weekend that we spent there was just right. It's great to go with a good group of friends, and just relax and have fun.
The second place I traveled to was Montreal, Quebec. This was a trip with my sister, and we had a blast! First off, Canadians are my favorite people. They are so friendly, and Montreal was such a chill city. In hindsight, we probably should have learned a bit more french...but most of the people we were around were fluent in both english and french. We ate amazing food (I had foie gras for the first time...I am so worldly), saw beautiful sites, went shopping in cute little boutiques, and just had a great time as sisters. We also saw the church where the Goddess, Celine Dion, was married. Talk about a religious experience! I LOVE CANADA! Only regret---I didn't meet Trudeau. :(
4. Music- I think by now, if you know me and/or if you have been reading this blog for awhile, you will know that I am a huge fan of The Beatles and *NSYNC. So those two bands are constantly on my playlists all year 'round. This summer I have been listening to a few other artists non-stop. Ed Sheeran (gotta love a fellow ginger), Ariana Grande (I told myself I wouldn't become a Grande fan...but here I am...loud and proud), and Justin Timberlake (wow, big stretch there Andrea).
I just love Ed, not just because he is a ginger (but let's be honest, that's a huge selling point), but I love his voice, his lyrics, his music. I want to see him in concert uber bad.
Ariana Grande's new album is an addiction for me. I may have my opinions on her life choices..but I shall keep them to myself....because it is HER life. :) But, gah---"No Tears Left to Cry." Are you for real? My anthem!
Justin Timberlake......oh JT. I heart you big time. I am going to his concert in December, and I am doing my research/due diligence by memorizing MOTW (Oh you don't know what that means? It's what us JT fan's call his new album "Man Of The Woods"). Side note--did you guys know that *NSYNC received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Did you also know that they had a pop-up shop selling *NSYNC merchandise for the first time in 16 years? Did you know that I got online ASAP and purchased a t-shirt...like any normal 33 year old would? Well....now you know.

I think that pretty much wraps up what I have loved about summer, thus far. Although it is winding down, I am excited for fall to start and all of the adventures that will bring. Here are a few pics from the Montreal trip my sis and I took:
